Wednesday, May 19

Another great day of art and culture in London. First we went down to Buckingham Palace to take in the changing of the guard, noting architectural characteristics and getting some historical background. After that we ate a picnic lunch in Green Park and then walked to Trafalgar Square and the National Gallery of Art. An amazing collection. Students hunted down their assigned works to note and in the process covered the entire space in about six hours, closing down another museum. They were free to go off on their own after that, but after I mentioned I was going to track down Abbey Road (hopeless Beatle fanatics required pilgrimage) well, everyone decided they wanted to go with me. No problem. We found the location and had fun taking pictures. You can see my pics, but more of us crossing the street to come from other's cameras. Lastly we had supper at a little spot near Baker Street (Sherlock's address). Tomorrow is a free day and everyone has plans: shopping, more museums, travel to Stonehenge, and other. Two more days of London, then off to Paris.
